Stephen N. Leuchtman

Stephen N. Leuchtman is of counsel to Bauchan Law Offices, P.C. and is a "Michigan man" having received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan where he received "All Big Ten" recognition in the shot put as a member of the track team and where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1970.

 

Mr. Leuchtman has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan (P16590) since 1970 and is licensed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.

 

In 2006 and several subsequent years Mr. Leuchtman was named in a "Michigan Super Lawyers" magazine article as one of Michigan's "Super Lawyers", a criteria for which begins with nominations from fellow members of the Bar. He is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, has been listed in Who's Who in America and his professional affiliations include Million Dollar Advocates, American Board of Trial Advocates, American Bar Association, Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, American Trial Lawyers Association as well as local Bar Associations.

 

Mr. Leuchtman has conducted over 200 trials, the results of which have included several verdicts of a million or more dollars for his clients (including Hollis v North Detroit General Hospital - $5,082,000; Griffin v Johnson, et al. - $2,563,000; Cox v Hurley Hospital - $2,400,000; Dorsey v Holy Cross Hospital - $1,500,000; and Jenkins v General Motors - $1,165,000).

 

Mr. Leuchtman has served as a faculty member at several professional seminars including Justice of the Peace School, Supreme Court of Montana, Billings, Montana; Determining and Proving Damages, National Business Institute, Southfield, Michigan; Effective Discovery for Civil Trial Practice, Lorman Business Center, Inc., Southfield, Michigan; and Masters in Trial, ABOTA, Novi, Michigan.

 

Mr. Leuchtman has also authored articles published in professional publications, including "Joint Liability and Police Misconduct Cases," Michigan State Bar Journal, Vol. 60, No. 2, Feb., 1981 and "Some Helpful Tips for Handling Out of State Litigation," Michigan Lawyers Weekly, Vol. 7, No. 44, September 13, 1993.

 

Bauchan Law Offices, P.C. maintains an appointment calendar for Mr. Leuchtman, whose primary office is in southern Michigan and who comes to Bauchan Law Offices, P.C. about every 10 days or so as needed to meet with clients, attend depositions, and conduct trials in northern Michigan while working out of his down state office on a day to day basis.
